Raising Visionary Ladies for Ethical Leadership and Innovation in a Changing World
The Accra Girls’ Senior High School (AGISS) community, together with alumni, parents, staff, and well-wishers, gathered in grand style on Saturday, 27th September 2025, to celebrate the school’s 65th Anniversary and Speech & Prize Giving Day.
The event, held on the school’s ceremonial grounds at North Ridge, Accra, was a vibrant display of academic excellence, cultural heritage, and a forward-looking vision. It also marked another significant milestone in AGISS’s journey of nurturing disciplined, intelligent, and visionary young women since its establishment in 1960.
A Celebration with Purpose
Under the theme “Raising Visionary Ladies for Ethical Leadership and Innovation in a Changing World,” the anniversary celebration commemorated the school’s remarkable 65-year legacy while reaffirming its mission to raise future female leaders equipped with integrity, creativity, and innovation.
The program commenced at 9:00 a.m., with an opening prayer and a stirring rendition of the national anthem by the AGISS Choir. Headmistress Mrs. Gifty Andoh delivered an inspiring welcome address, highlighting the school’s notable achievements in academics, discipline, and infrastructure over the past year.
She further outlined strategic initiatives to strengthen STEM education, digital literacy, and leadership development among students as AGISS continues to position itself as one of Ghana’s premier girls’ institutions.
